Chris Hudson
Chris Hudson is the Senior Vice President of Network Operations at Alectra Utilities Corporation, the regulated business of Alectra serving over 1 million customers in 17 communities across Ontario. Chris started out in the utility business in 1996 at Aecon Utilities where he held a number of progressively senior positions during his tenure, culminating in the role of Vice President Utility Operations (Central and Eastern Divisions). In 2013, Chris joined Enersource Corporation as Vice President of Asset Operations. In this capacity, Chris was responsible for the management and performance of this division and executed a capital budget strategy the grew over 35% in three years to over $62 million. In 2017, a merger of Enersource, PowerStream and Horizon Utilities led to the creation of Alectra, with the acquisition of Hydro One Brampton very soon after. Alectra merged with Guelph Hydro in 2019, which expanded the customer base to over 1,000,000, and made Alectra the largest municipally-owned electricity utility in Canada based on customers served. As the Senior Vice President, Network Operations, Chris oversees the teams that construct, maintain and operate Alectra’s electrical grid. These departments include, Lines, System Control, Protection and Control, Stations, Reliability, Records and Mapping, Emergency Preparedness, and the company’s Program Delivery Group. Chris’ significant involvement in the industry has been longstanding and is ongoing. He has held a number of Board positions in a wide array of organizations over the years including Utility Contractors Association of Ontario, the Greater Toronto Water and Sewer Contractors Association, and Ontario One Call. Chris currently holds a position on the Board of Directors for Holland Power Board, and Electricity Human Resources Canada. In addition, Chris is involved in Committees tied to a number of associations within the electricity sector.
